Longboard spots in Los Angeles

LA's beach paths, hills, and wide boulevards make it a longboarding institution — from Venice's boardwalk scene to the hill bombs of the Westside, it's a city built for rolling.

Historic Belmar Park

Smooth paths and open space perfect for cruising and carving in Santa Monica.

DockSession LA

A vibrant spot for the LA longboard community to gather and skate together.

Marina Path

A smooth, scenic stretch of bike path through the Marina with a gentle, even decline on either end — great for working on speed control while dancing, with a Trader Joe's right next door for snacks.

Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook

A curvy downhill descent through a popular hiking park with an epic view over Culver City — slippery pavement and frequent pedestrians make it a properly sketchy ride.

21st Street Bomb

One of the steepest hills around, great for a casual slide session if you're experienced — watch the traffic and the bump halfway down that's perfect for an early grab.

Ocean View Spiral

A spiral stretch with sweeping ocean views.

Venice V

A great spot for sunset sessions in the heart of Venice — busy with foot traffic on weekends, with some cracks between the pavement blocks but nothing terrible.

Longboard Dancing Plaza

A long plaza for longboard dancing — a great backup when the parking lots are full, though the chunky pavement can feel a little odd on small wheels.

Will Rogers Hairpins

Grippy 15-to-25mph hairpins on a road closed to traffic, though maintenance vehicles occasionally pass through — a little rough, but a great place to learn downhill if you can find parking.

Bay Street

An iconic hill down to the beach made famous by the original Z-Boys — the pavement's gotten chunky over the years, but the view is still incredible.

Inglewood Pump Track

An epic pump track with two big courses and a skatepark at the top of the hill — bikes get priority on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Mar Vista Roller Hockey Rink

Great pavement for longboard dancing, sometimes lit up at night — check the rink schedule first, since hockey practices and events can fill it up.

Franklin

A big, long hill on the edge of Santa Monica that starts flat and gradually steepens, great for groups of mixed skill — decent road quality with a 4-way stop at the bottom, so ease off in time, though traffic here is lighter than most hills nearby.
